Join us !

Researchers and clinicians with an interest in insulin resistance, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are invited to join the EGIR Study Group.

EGIR membership provides access to scientific meetings and webinars, collaborative research opportunities, and EGIR-related publications and study initiatives.

Join EGIR to contribute to and engage with a European network dedicated to advancing research in insulin resistance. Please send your request to the following email: lucrecia.mota@med.unipi.it

Joint Annual Meeting of the European MASLD&EGIR Study Groups - Maastricht, The Netherlands, from 23 to 25 November 2026

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Joint Annual Meeting of the European MASLD Study Group and the European Group for Insulin Resistance (EGIR, which will take place in Maastricht, The Netherlands, from 23 to 25 November 2026.)

RS_MALFD_2026

The meeting will bring together leading clinicians and researchers to discuss the latest advances in insulin resistance, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), diabetes, obesity, and related cardiometabolic diseases.

Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission is open, and the deadline is October 16, 2026. Abstract submission form

We accept abstracts presenting original results in clinical and basic science. Abstracts reporting data already presented at national or international meetings in the year 2026 are also eligible, as well as research published no more than six months before submission.

Expected notification of abstract acceptance: October 30, 2026.
Three awards of €500 each will be assigned to the best oral presentations submitted by researchers under the age of 42: one for a study related to MASLD, one for a study on insulin resistance and cardiometabolic diseases, and one for the best research in the biological field, dedicated to the memory of Valter Lubrano.
