The MASLD Study Group Initiation Meeting - March 22-23, 2013 - Helsinki, Finland

A warm wellcome to the EASD MASLD Study Group Kick-off meeting March 22-23, 2013 in Finland

At the Kick-off meeting of the MASLD study group, we need to provide:

- A provisional board consisting of 7 people. Thus, we will need to elect the Officers (Chairman/Vice-Chair/Secretary/Treasurer) and 3 other committee members. In addition, we will need to decide the aim of the group, location and timing for future meetings and the duration of tenure of the committee. In the new 2012 constitution only the Chairman of a Study Group must be a member of EASD, elected committee members need not be members of the EASD. Thus hepatologists and others interested in MASLD are very welcome.

- A short report (one page) on the aims and planned activities of the study group. This report will be sent to EASD for publication in the News Section of Diabetologia in order to inform the membership and to invite other members of the Association to join.

The above should be sent to EASD to be tabled at the April Executive Committee Meeting before March 31, 2013. The Executive Committee will then forward the proposal to endorse the study group to the Council which convenes during the Annual Meeting.

Scientific program

  • The EASD MASLD Study Group Kick-off meeting is officially also the 2013 Winter Meeting of the Finnish Society for Diabetology and Diabetes Research.
  • The major objective of this meeting is enable scientists to meet and exchange ideas and data.
  • The Final program is enclosed.
  • In addition to the science, the program includes an initiation meeting for the MASLD study group.
